Liz Burke is an award-winning communications specialist, with combined professional expertise in the fields of broadcast journalism, public relations, and teaching. She has spent many years speaking in front of various audiences, both on and off camera. Most recently, she is an adjunct professor at Hofstra University, and a freelance reporter at News 12 Long Island.
Over the last two decades, Liz has worked at leading public relations agencies and news outlets. In public relations, she spent many years orchestrating industry events, press conferences and meetings. Liz was also the principal agency liaison between clients and members of the press, preparing and training executives, notables, and other professionals for media interviews.
Liz has held various roles in the field of broadcast journalism, possessing over a decade of experience in reporting, interviewing, writing, and producing. She has covered nearly every type of story, from breaking news, politics, and business angles, to traffic, charities, and human interest. Liz also spent time delivering live reports as a traffic reporter for CBS-2 New York and NBC-4 NY and various radio stations.
Throughout her career, Liz has received the following recognitions: Long Island Business News Excellence in Communication Award, Edward R. Murrow Award, Omni Intermedia Award, and Folio Award.
Liz earned her bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College and master’s degree from New York Institute of Technology.
